UX Research Process

Why UX

My main motivation is to define user experiences than designing screens. Their journey starts from the mental model they have than the visual appearance we build in our screen flows. We can get plenty of valuable information about a customer based on what they do and when they do it. That data, however, doesn’t answer the question of why they do it, and how we can design more effective solutions to their problems through our products and services. We need more context. User research helps to provide that context.

User research helps us to understand how other people live their lives, so that we can respond more effectively to their needs with informed and inspired design solutions. User research also helps us to avoid our own biases, because we frequently have to create design solutions for people who aren’t like us.

My Research

Objective: These are the questions we are trying to answer. What do we need to know at this point in the design process? What are the knowledge gaps we need to fill?

Opportunity: These are what we believe we already know. What are our team’s assumptions? What do we think we understand about our users, in terms of both their behaviors and our potential solutions to their needs?

Solution: How are we addressing to fill the gaps in our knowledge. Based on the time and people available, what is the best possible solution we are looking into and how does it help the end user.

Case Study: QuickBite

This is a desktop and mobile application project which is enabling our internal customers, partners, and employees to test their CA product knowledge before appearing for Proven Professional Exams.

Objective: The application should be working in different devices seamlessly and it should enable our internal employees to test their product knowledge and help them in clearing the final certification exam.

Opportunity: To create a beautiful experience for our employees which can help them learn the product and test their skills. This should have a gamified experience to add fun element.

Solution: Made the application mobile optimized and can be accessed from anywhere. This will help the users to stay connected and go through the study material at any given point of time.
